Roger Howse was born in St. John's, NL, into a very musical family on his mother's side. Becoming involved in the St. John's music scene at an early age, Roger was able to absorb a number of musical styles & work in a variety of musical stuations, from bars & pubs, to dances & weddings, musical theatre, radio & tv & the recording studio.

Over the three decades & change he has spent in the music industry Roger has had the opportunity to work with many great musicians, singers & actors. From blues legends like Pinetop Perkins, 'Honeyboy' Edwards & Canada's own Dutch Mason to popular country artists such as Ron Hynes & Eddie Eastman, Roger has covered all the guitar bases!

After moving to Halifax NS in 1995 Roger continued performing throughout the Atlantic provinces. He has a close association with Bearly's House of Blues & Ribs in Halifax but has played most of the major centres & many excellent venues in smaller communities in Nova Scotia

Roger has, for a number of years, worked with good friend and singer Brenda Stone in a project called StoneHowse, an acoustic duo performing an eclectic mix of styles and genres. He has also worked almost exlusively with Morrow Scot-Brown on bass & Steve Tomarelli on drums in the latest incarnation of the Roger Howse Band.

At present, Roger continues to work on his solo show, StoneHowse & the Roger Howse Band in addition to occasional side projects. He & his wife live in Halifax with their dogs.
